As we’ve settled down into our first year of married life as a petite family of two, MJWizzy and I have made a concerted effort to cook at home and cut back on eating out.
The last time we were visiting my parents, the hubbub picked up One Pan, Two Plates: More Than 70 Complete Weeknight Meals for Two by Carla Snyder at a local shop. We’ve used this book a lot since. It’s perfect for week night meals that are quick and easy to make after a long day and little time to plan.
It’s a great cookbook when preparing meals for two – you don’t end up with gobs of leftovers, the author, Carla Snyder, offers great tips for smaller cooking, and the photography and styling are beautiful. Oh, and the food is pretty darn tasty, too.
So far, a few of our favorites include Flank Steak with Chimichurri and Summer Squash Hash (on the cover), Braised Lentils with Polish Kielbasa and Cabbage, and Sautéed Pork Chops with Sweet Potato, Apple and Mustard Sauce…next on the list to try? The Jambalaya with Chicken, Shrimp and Andouille Sausage.
I highly recommend this cook book for any busy couple.
