Hello and Happy Wednesday! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend.

Liebster Award

Friday I received a comment that I had been nominated for the Liebster Award from fellow blogger, OMG I DIY. Liebster is a german word that means dearest or beloved. Basically it’s an unofficial award for up and coming bloggers with under 200 followers, given by fellow bloggers. From the looks of it, it seems more like a chain letter. Regardless,  I was flattered to get noticed and nominated, so I’m paying it forward.

Here’s the  basic rules, though they seem to vary depending on where you look.  My answers are further below…

> Share 11 random facts about yourself

> Answer the 11 questions the blogger who nominated you asked

> Create 11 questions to ask the 11 people you nominate

> Nominate 11 bloggers with under 200 followers and let them know they’ve been nominated!

For more information on the rules, go here.

So you see it’s more of a chain letter vs. an actual award, but I was flattered and figured I may as well play along, it’s fun to connect with fellow creative bloggers, right? So here’s my answers and further below you’ll see my questions for the 11 bloggers I’ve tagged.

Random Facts about me:

I am the youngest of 5. I started this blog as a way to stay inspired. One of the best Christmas gifts I’ve ever received is my sewing machine. I make beaded purses, but it’s been a while. The best trip I have taken was to Chateau Dumas in France. Though I have traveled extensively, my favorite place in the world is still my family’s cabin in the woods of Northern Michigan. I wish I could sing (like be good enough to be on broadway). My favorite color is green. I like getting up early, but I love to sleep in. My husband and I have a fake dog named Pickles. I am a huge fan of Swedish Fish.

And now for my answers to OMG I DIY’s questions:

1. Why do you choose your blog name?

I chose “Flee Fly Flown” based on an old camp song (“I said Flee, I said Flee Fly, I said Flee Fly Flow…”) as well as my desire to describe the process of travel. You make plans, you take a trip, and then you return, perhaps inspired and rejuvenated with something new to bring to the table.

2. Tell us your advantage in the blogosphere.

I don’t necessarily know that I have an advantage in the blogosphere, more that my unique point of view is DIY creativity inspired by travel. And that DIY and creativity is a form of travel or escape.

3. Do you want to do different?

Of course, what fun is it being the same as everyone else?

4. What inspires you?

Travel. My mom, books, art, vintage, Pinterest.

5. Do you prefer expensive or just creative stuff?

I prefer creative and quality. If something is high quality (and creative) I don’t mind paying a little extra for it.

6. What do you want from the future of your blog?

I hope that I continue to inspire others to travel and live a creative life.

7. What do you do now for that?

I keep blogging and looking for new avenues of inspiration to share with readers.

8. What is your favourite blog and why?

My latest blog obsession is Design Mom. I have learned a lot about how I want to approach blogging, and have been so inspired by the posts shared by Gabrielle Blair about design and her darling family.

9. Do you want to do the same or different?

I want to do things my way, though I’ve learned a lot from other blogs and bloggers.

10. What inspires you most? rain or sun?

Sun.

11. Leave me an advice please!

Never stop learning. As my dad always says (borrowed from Mark Twain), “Never let school get in the way of your education.”

And here are the blogs I’ve nominated…

I chose to go for quality, not quantity. I hope they all fit the criteria!

1. Crafternoon Tea
2. The Stay at Work Housewife
3. Love Letters to Home
4. New Old Fashion
5. Fork, Knife and Spoon
6. Ordinarily Aimee
7. Pinwheels and Ice Cream

Here are my questions for you below (see rules above!):

1. What’s the best trip you have ever taken?
2. Do you have a favorite quote? If so, what is it?
3. Why did you start a blog?
4. Name three places that are on your trip wish list.
5. Mansion, Apartment, Shack or House?
6. What makes your home, home?
7. What’s your favorite book?
8. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
9. Do you live in the same city where you were born?
10. What is your favorite flower?
11. What is your favorite blog these days?

It’s been fun discovering other lovely and creative blogs. Thanks for helping me continue to discover and I hope you find something new from this post.
